How to Use Essential Oil With Meraki Sphere

HOW DO I USE ESSENTIAL OIL JEWELRY WITH ESSENTIAL OILS?

Using essential oils with lava bead diffuser jewelryis very easy. Just use a drop or two of your favorite oils and rub them on the black lava beads. The easiest way is to add the oil on your finger first and then rub it on the black lava beads. You can rub the residue on your hands and inhale for extra benefit. You can also apply essential oils from a roller bottle and just run the roller bottle over the black lava beads. Generally essential oils should be diluted prior to using on the skin. Also the quality of the essential oils can vary between brands and some are more pure than others. Please note that if you use a poor quality essential oil with lava beads and it’s exposed to the skin, you could get possible adverse reaction on the skin. Always choose therapeutic grade essential oils if applying on the black lava beads directly or dilute with a carrier if using a lower quality essential oil to minimize possible skin reactions.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT OILS TO USE?

There is no right or wrong oils to use with your bracelets. Try different oils and see what you like best. Typically citrus oils and oils like peppermint are great for a quick pick me up and boost of energy. Relaxing oils such as lavender and Doterra blends Serenity, Forgive, Console, and Peace are great for relaxing and stress relief. Blends such as Citrus Bliss, Cheer, Elevation and Motivate are great for mood lifting.

Please note that citrus oils can cause photosensitivity which means the skin can burn more easily in the sun so be sure to avoid direct sunlight for 12 hours if using citrus oils directly on your skin.

DO ESSENTIAL OILS STAIN?

Some essential oils can stain depending on the oils used so use care when applying. To avoid staining on clothing, apply essential oils on the lava beads and keep away from fabrics to avoid staining. Wait a few minutes for the oils to absorb. I personally like to use Doterra oils because they are very high quality and usually disappear very quickly without leaving residue behind.

HOW LONG DO THE ESSENTIAL OILS LAST?

The length of time that the essential oils last on the jewelry depend on how much of oil you are using and what oil you are using. A drop or two might last 2-4 hours, if you use more oil it can last 24 hours. Some stronger oils will last longer than lighter oils. The best thing to do is to find your favorite and reapply when you notice the scent is gone.

CAN I USE MORE THAN ONE OIL?

Yes you can absolutely use more than one oil. You can make your own mix by mixing the oils first and then applying them on the beads or by applying them directly from the bottle. Find your own favorite combinations by trying different oils.

ESSENTIAL OIL DIFFUSING BENEFITS

One of the most well-studied areas of aroma research is the effect of smell on emotions and mood. For example, there is convincing evidence demonstrating that simply inhaling the aroma of an essential oil is effective for calming nervous or anxious feelings in a variety of settings. The smell receptors located on the upper surface of the nasal cavity make direct links with the limbic system of the brain, an area that governs the body’s emotional responses. This close connection between aroma and emotion becomes obvious in our everyday life as certain odors trigger memories or specific feelings. Some aromas directly impact mood (for example calming, balancing, or invigorating), while others trigger memories of a specific experience, often one tied to a strong emotion.

Intriguing new research has also helped us recognize that the benefits of aroma extend far beyond just emotional regulation. In addition to influencing the limbic region of the brain, olfactory centers are also intricately linked with the hypothalamus, an area of the brain more familiarly nicknamed the “visceral control center” because it controls physiologic functions throughout the body. The hypothalamus exerts its powerful influence by interacting directly with the pituitary gland, or “master gland,” a small gland located in the brain. The pituitary gland secretes hormones involved in the regulation of blood pressure, hunger and thirst signals, thyroid function, sleep cycles, production of sexual hormones, and memory, among other things. Because of the direct link of the olfactory system to this area of the brain, aroma is capable of interacting directly with the hypothalamus, influencing neurochemistry throughout the body, and, in turn, potentiating powerful health outcomes.
